Parks, Recreation, and Green Space

Winter Springs is known for its beautiful parks, trails, trees, and natural surroundings. These community spaces contribute to our quality of life by providing opportunities for recreation, neighborhood gatherings, and connections among residents.

Mayor McCann has supported investments that preserve and improve our parks, expand recreational opportunities, and protect the tree canopy and natural character that make Winter Springs a special place to live.

Accomplishments

• Supported the development of the popular 14-court pickleball complex at Central Winds Park

• Expanded community events and activities in City parks, including Food Truck Thursdays rotating between Trotwood Park and Torcaso Park

• Supported the Winter Springs Farmers Market at Trotwood Park, now held twice each month

• Continued investment in parks, playgrounds, trails, and recreational facilities

• Defended the City’s tree canopy by opposing efforts to waive or reduce tree-mitigation obligations for large development projects

• Advanced tree preservation, environmental stewardship, and protection of the green spaces that define Winter Springs
